03/07/2019 : We are extending our range of Cadbury Cakes with the launch of our new Cadbury Dairy Milk slices. This is the first time the iconic Dairy Milk brand will be available in the format, presenting a perfect opportunity for retailers to capitalise by stocking the well-loved product in a new part of the store. The slices come in three flavours: Cadbury Dairy Milk, Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel and Cadbury Dairy Milk Raspberry. The range contains deliciously moist chocolate sponge, packed with real Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate chunks and drizzled with Cadbury chocolate or caramel sauce to create the ultimate cake slice.
Mathew Bird, Brand Director for Sweet Treats at Premier Foods, comments: “Chocolate is the most popular flavour in ambient cake ; it represents 26% of total small cake retail sales value (RSV) but only 17% of slices RSV1, highlighting the opportunity for chocolate within slices to unlock significant growth for the category. The opportunity, combined with the iconic Cadbury Dairy Milk brand coming to the cake aisle, is expected to increase both sales and footfall for retailers in store.
“The flavours are delicious and have gone down very well in consumer testing. Dairy Milk and Dairy Milk Caramel bars are established variants in the chocolate aisle, so have a natural appeal in this new format, while the raspberry SKU offers something different to complete the range perfectly.”
The slices come in three flavours; Cadbury Dairy Milk, Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel and Cadbury Dairy Milk Raspberry with an MSSP of £1.99 per pack of six slices. The launch will be supported in-store and products are available across the grocery channel now.
