Job description

Group Reporting Accountant
Based in St Albans
 
We currently have an opportunity for a recently qualified Accountant, (ACA/ACCA), to join our busy Group Finance team, based in St Albans.  You will have the opportunity to make a real impact in taking direct responsibility for the delivery of key business metrics and senior stakeholder relationships, including the Group Financial Controller and the CFO.
 
Reporting to the Head of Reporting, key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Preparation of half year and full year consolidated group financial statements under IFRS
  • Preparation of UK subsidiaries statutory accounts under IFRS
  • Management of half year and full year external audit process
  • Responsible for monthly consolidation processes and reporting of group P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts and commentary for distribution to the Board and banks
  • Responsible for budgeting and forecasting of part of the group P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Responsible for technical accounting issues, including; business disposals, share based payments, goodwill impairment, onerous leases, restructuring costs, investments in associates, pension scheme IAS 19 valuations
  • Dealing with ad-hoc technical accounting queries and interpreting new accounting standards to produce group accounting policy
  • Ownership of the Group Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual
 
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
 
  • ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant
  • Experience in Financial Reporting, either directly or through experience in Practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of the latest financial reporting standards (IFRS & UK GAAP)
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills
