Lifton supports the CHICKS charity

As well as supporting our corporate charity partner Cancer Research UK, our sites support local charities close to their hearts. Our Lifton site has continued its longstanding support for local charity CHICKS, by helping fund and build a fire pit at the charity’s holiday retreat. CHICKS provides much needed breaks for disadvantaged children from across the UK, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to get away on holiday.

After successfully securing £2,000 from the Premier Foods Community Involvement Fund, volunteers from the site set to work building shelters and seating for the Fire Pit, providing a great area for children to sing songs and toast marshmallows around the fire.

Well done to volunteers Clive Atton, Andrew Wheatley, Tim Styles, Rachel Matheson, Bridget Inch, Paul Keane, Tony Gilmour, Helen Griffin, Janine Harrison and Site Manager Steve Pretty.

The Devon site has helped support CHICKS for a number of years by funding and delivering various projects including tree planting and building a games room. Since 1992, the charity has helped over 11,000 children take a break from the challenges they face at home including poverty, abuse, bereavement and caring responsibilities.
