COVID-19 Update

Our guiding principle throughout this challenging time is to look after the health, safety and welfare of our colleagues.
Food has been identified by the Government as a key industry and we feel privileged to play our part in keeping the nation fed.  Every day our teams are working together to make sure we maintain, and in some cases increase production levels to put our products on customers’ shelves and stock shoppers’ cupboards.

Keeping our workers safe
Where possible, teams are working from home and we have implemented a range of additional measures to protect our food heroes whilst they continue to work at our manufacturing and distribution sites, including strengthening our already stringent hygiene standards, social distancing, managing the flow of colleagues around our sites and installing Perspex screens on our lines where required to keep them safe.
We confirm we have complied with the government's guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19 (see poster here).

Supporting our people
Our colleagues have shown tremendous resilience to meet exceptional demand in recent weeks and so, in recognition of their hard work, to colleagues in our manufacturing sites we have awarded a bonus of £250 each, two days holiday and a food hamper to share with their families.
Those colleagues in self-isolation, either with symptoms of the virus or because someone in their household is displaying symptoms, are supported on full company sick pay, and any colleagues who fall into the Government defined ‘extremely vulnerable’ group are also at home on full pay.

Helping our local communities
We recognise the challenges people at work and at home are facing right now, so in addition to our existing charitable work with "Together for short lives", "Grocery Aid" and "Company Shop", we are supporting local communities by providing products to those who need it most through the Government’s vulnerable food parcels scheme, by donating stock to "FareShare" for valuable community food banks and by supporting around 30 hospitals local to our sites, with easy to prepare meals and snacks for our incredible NHS workers who are looking after us.
