Our head office is in St Albans and around 450 people are based here, providing group functions such as marketing, communications, sales, finance, HR and legal. It’s also the home site for colleagues working on our international business who are not based overseas.

Ambrosia creamery
Brands made here: Ambrosia, Angel Delight and Bird’s.
The creamery at Lifton first went into action in 1917, producing dried milk and later creamed rice. It’s famous as the home of the Ambrosia range, most popular of which is the delicious Ambrosia Devon custard, processing 50 million litres of West Country milk every year. The site employs over 300 people and supports a number of apprentice positions. It's also where our research and development team for desserts is based and where Ambrosia ready to eat porridge was invented.

Andover mill
Brands made here: McDougalls and Be-Ro.
The Mill was bought by McDougalls in 1917 but sadly burned down in 1925 and reopened in 1928. In 1957 Hovis-McDougalls was formed and then four years later became Rank Hovis McDougall until April 2015 when it was acquired by Premier Foods. Just under 50 people work here and the site processes anywhere from 48,000 tonnes to 58,000 tonnes of self-raising and plain flour annually, using traditional milling methods and machinery which rely on the skills of our specialist, expert millers.

Ashford factory

Our Ashford factory was bought by Premier Foods in 2006 and has 18 production lines, making more than 300 different products. Around 400 colleagues also work at this site.

Carlton bakery
Brands made here: Mr Kipling cakes and pies, including our Signature Collection and Deliciously Good.
When it opened in 1975, this was the largest purpose-built bakery in the world. It’s still the biggest bakery in the UK, producing 130 million packs of cake a year on 12 production lines, after capacity was increased in 2015 thanks to a £20m investment. Around 700 colleagues are employed at the site but this climbs to approximately 950 in the run up to Christmas each year. Carlton is also where our research and development team for cake is based.

Moreton bakery
Brands made here: Cadbury cakes.
Famous as the home of the Cadbury Mini Roll, our Moreton Bakery has been making cakes since the 1960s and produces dozens of different Cadbury cakes on its three main lines. The mini roll plant produces 1,350 mini rolls per minute and products from the site are shipped all the way to Australia and New Zealand. There are between 350 and 550 colleagues employed at the site depending on the time of year.

Stoke bakery
Stoke bakery
Brands made here: Mr Kipling cakes and slices, Mr Kipling icing mixes.
Mr Kipling cakes have been made at the Stoke bakery since 1975. In the past decade, significant investment has been made in our automated processes and infrastructure to improve and expand the site which now employs around 500 people, working across seven production lines. The site produces around 90 million packs of cake each year, including 60 million mince pies.

Worksop factory
Brands made here: Batchelors, Bisto, OXO, Homepride, Loyd Grossman, Sharwood’s and Saxa.
There are four separate manufacturing centres on our Worksop site to account for all the different products being made, plus our research and development plant for savoury products is here. Output at the site has tripled since Premier Foods took it over in 2006 and it now employs around 530 colleagues. The sauces factory can make around 15,600 jars of cooking sauces per hour and every 24 hours the site makes 3.7million OXO cubes.

Lutterworth
Lutterworth is the home of our central supply chain, managing all the logistics for getting our products around the UK and overseas. Customer service, supply chain planning, inventory management, finance and procurement are based here. There are just over 100 people employed at the site.

Premier Analytical Services
Premier Analytical Services
Premier Analytical Services is a leading food testing centre, providing services to Premier Foods but also to other businesses in the food industry. Over 50 colleagues work in the laboratories, and services include authenticity testing, shelf-life validation, and allergen investigations.
